A beautiful violin with a spectacular flamed back plate. Whoever has this violin in their hands will never want anything else. A real Gagliano is unaffordable, but this violin is and now available for rent and sale. Andreas Post orally determined that this instrument is worth 6000 euros, but when it comes to the sound, you could certainly add a zero more. Except for a few past repairs, this violin is in top condition. It sounds like an old Italian master instrument.

Specifics

Varnish and colour:

This violin has a red-brown line oil varnish, upon an amber base. The varnish seems original and has remained mostly intact. There are some usage marks visible under the surface, both from playing and artificially added by the maker.

Interesting details:

In the past there has been an adjustment from baroque to modern, the curl was removed and later put back on. This action took place before 1850. All holes for the tuning pegs have also been plastered. Some cracks have been repaired from the inside. These are stable and do not have a major influence on the sound. There are 3 location pins on the back plate. The instrument was made with taste and a lot of artistic feeling.
